Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Environmental Impact Assessment is a procedure that must be followed for certain types of development before they are granted consent. The requirement for EIA comes from European Directive (85/33/EEC as amended by 97/11/EC).

What sort of developments may require Environmental Impact Assessment?

It is not always readily apparent which projects will trigger the need for an EIA.

Bell Cornwell Environmental have developed a comprehensive approach to screening proposed developments to determine whether or not they require an accompanying Environmental Statement (ES) and will therefore be subject to the EIA procedure.
