Bell Cornwell Environmental acts for clients in response to the widening scope of environmental legislation and regulation, and increased levels of public awareness.

Sustainable development seeks to achieve wealth creation and a better quality of life, whilst protecting and enhancing the environment. This involves the carefully managed use of finite resources and focusing on the use of renewable resources.

We help clients to achieve sustainable development by:

• analysing baseline conditions at potential development sites;
• identifying environmental constraints;
• liaising with planning authorities and regulatory agencies; and
• introducing solutions to:
  • mitigate environmental impacts;
  • enhance the environment.

In practice, this involves the incorporation of environmental planning guidance and the principal indicators of sustainable development into the design of a development project. Frequently, this is achieved through the formal process of Environmental Impact Assessment, but our environmental expertise is applied in a much wider range of contexts.
